Vapour Trails

                                                            I wonder where they're going

                                                            So high up in the sky

                                                            They could be going anywhere

                                                            I often wonder why?

                                                            Are they going to visit family?

                                                            Or out of town for work?

                                                            Are they heading on vacation?

                                                            Or escaping from a jerk?

                                                            Sometimes the trails are puffy

                                                            Sometimes a simple line

                                                            Sometimes they're different colours

                                                            Determined by sunshine.

                                                            How can a plane so heavy

                                                            Stay up in the sky?

                                                            Full of people and their cargo

                                                            Yet still it can fly high.

                                                            They make such pretty patterns

                                                            At certain times of day

                                                            It's fun to dream and wonder

                                                            Of the great big sky highway!
