Voices From the Past

Listen to the whispers, 

The voices that you hear, 

The messages they send you, 

From those you held most dear.

 

Listen, just be silent, 

The voices, always there, 

Calling from the shadows, 

Drifting through the air. 

 

They’ll speak to you in moments, 

When alone, you’re left behind, 

Afraid of lost connections, 

That ties no longer bind. 

 

They remind you that resilient, 

You will rise above the pain, 

In the times of deepest sorrow, 

You will surely breathe again. 

 

They promise new beginnings, 

Of healing hearts unseen, 

Of finding joy in memories, 

Of all your life has been. 

 

So listen, first in silence, 

Then share the words you hear, 

They’ll somehow give you comfort, 

And keep your loved ones near.
