Well, here we are a solid week into the challenge. Congratulations for making it this far. If you've managed to keep going you should have a manuscript of about 3500 words by now, unless you've plowed ahead or are planning on making up for lost days later.
Remember that this challenge is not just about coming up with the requisite amount of words but to establish something of routine and find out what does and doesn't work for you as part of your schedule.
Also, remember that you don't have to bring this bit of writing to a conclusion by the end of the month. You can be anywhere in your story by the time you've chugged out your 15,000 words.
I hope you're having fun with the challenge and that you are finding new ways to bring your creativity to bear.

ReplyDeleteYes, morning seems to work out for me and I am trying to establish a routine. Works at least in the winter months.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update Adrian. Things are moving along quite well. I am finding that I am going back and adding more details in earlier portions to explain some of the ideas that crop up as I am writing.
ReplyDeleteI seem to work best between 9pm and midnight. Like Bill, I find myself re-reading and adding details to what I've already done. This challenge has given me the nudge I needed to finally write the story I have been researching for a year. A feeling of great accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteThe same here, Barbara. I wanted to do this story for the past three winters. The challenge was just the thing to motivate me! My own satisfaction when it is done!
